memory2 SOLD OUT! October 8-June 17: Legacy and Promise: African-American Art from the KIA A traveling exhibit of six original works from the permanent collection of the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. The ArtReach exhibit includes two-dimensional works from acclaimed African-American artists who approach such themes as cultural identity, social conflict and collective memory with deep insight and unique authority.
noma2 November 8-February 8: Spared from the Storm: Masterworks from the New Orleans Museum of Art The New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) selected eighty-nine of its finest works of European and American art from the 1600’s-1960’s for a rare traveling exhibit. The show features drawings, paintings and sculptures that survived the encroaching flood waters of Hurricane Katrina. The exhibit includes renowned works by artists such as Francois Boucher, William Adolphe Bouguereau, Mary Cassatt, Wassily Kandinsky, Joan Miro, Claude Monet, Georgia O’Keeffe, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Auguste Rodin, John Singer Sargent and Giambattista Tiepolo. Of particular note are works by Edgar Degas who spent time in New Orleans visiting family.

Don't miss Scottish theatre company Visible Fictions and their unforgettable two-man production of Jason & the Argonauts. This tongue-in-cheek play honors the classic Greek tale while making it relevant and accessible to today’s youth. Recommended for 3rd grade and older.
kothi4 December 9-11: Ko-Thi Dance Company This acclaimed ensemble from Milwaukee features pulsating vibrant rhythms and sterling hypnotic movement. Dedicated to the preservation and performance of traditional African, African-American and Caribbean dance and drumming, this ensemble captivates and inspires. Ko-Thi uses a myriad of traditional instruments, authentic costumes, infectious music and extraordinary dance to educate and bridge the gap between cultures.
ailey1 SOLD OUT! February 11: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Note: This work of art is not available as an EFA Presents! Admission Credit selection. The company has earned a reputation as one of the most acclaimed international ambassadors of American culture, promoting the uniqueness of the African-American cultural experience and the preservation and enrichment of American modern dance. The lecture-demonstration will feature the enduring Ailey masterpiece "Revelations" in its entirety.
mozart2 February 17, 19, 23: Mozart's Gran Partita Mozart’s Serenade No. 10 in Bb (the Gran Partita) has been called a masterpiece of the wind repertoire and one of the greatest works in all of classical music. The Gran Partita will be performed by the Western Winds, a unique ensemble in the School of Music at Western Michigan University. The ensemble is comprised of music faculty in the wind, brass and percussion studios and their premiere graduate students.
hansel1 SOLD OUT! April 29-May 1: Hansel and Gretel Sung in English, Hansel and Gretel is Humperdinck's operatic version of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, magically brought to life with the giant (life-size) puppet's of Theatre Sans Fil. The company successfully unites the traditional with the modern, incorporating special effects, beautiful costumes and luscious orchestral music into this spectacular production.
