Modeled on the essential principles of the internationally acclaimed Lincoln Center Institute for the Arts in Education, the EFA Aesthetic Education Program provides students with a rich investigation of high-quality works of art in all disciplines. Through collaboratively planned, inquiry-based workshops, teachers and teaching artists prepare students to experience live works of art and develop their perceptual and analytical skills. With more than 5,000 students from 25 schools participating locally, EFA’s program is part of an aesthetic education community serving more than one million students worldwide. EFA’s Summer Institute, National Educators Workshop and other trainings provide ongoing professional development support for the more than 200 Aesthetic Education teachers and teaching artists in Kalamazoo County.
