The EFA Presents! Program
EFA Presents! provides K-12 students in the Kalamazoo RESA service area with access to acclaimed performing arts events and visual arts exhibitions at little or no cost. Participating schools may select any of the works of art from the 2010-2011 EFA Rep, except for Yellow Terror: The Collections and Paintings of Roger Shimomura.
Special announcement: The KIA is pleased to offer docent-guided tours of The Wyeths: America's Artists free-of-charge to school groups. Tours will not count towards using your EFA Presents! Admission Credits.
EFA Presents! Admission Credit and Fees
Elementary and Middle Schools | Admission Credit
In May 2007, the superintendents of the ten school districts approved the EFA Presents! Admission Credit in recognition of the importance of maintaining access to high-quality arts education programming during difficult economic times. The exciting initiative provides free admission to selected works of art for every K-8 school (public and private) in the Kalamazoo RESA service area.
Each school receives one credit per enrolled K-8 student. The credits may be redeemed for free admission to one event or for any combination of events.
If a school uses all of its credits for the school year, but wants to attend additional events, it may purchase extra admissions at a cost of only $2.00 per student for field trips or $100.00 per school for the Movement and Shadow: Prints and Drawings by Kirk Newman traveling exhibition.
High Schools | Subsidized Admission Fee
High schools may purchase admission for students in grades 9-12 at a heavily subsidized rate. Admission costs only $2.00 per student for field trips or $100.00 per school for the Movement and Shadow: Prints and Drawings by Kirk Newman traveling exhibition.
